About the play:
While on his deathbed, Edgar Allan Poe tries to fine meaning in the past loves of his life. But the mysterious man, Gray, will not let Poe rest, tormenting him from the place between life and death. His bedside nurse, Mary, may prove to be Poe's salvation...or his ultimate undoing.
Poe Story is a play in two-acts, exploring the heart of Edgar Allan Poe through romance, the macabre, and motion/acrobatics. About the author:

Brockett Vola is a playwright/actor living in Chicago. He is a graduate of Florida State University and the iO school of Improv. Brockett produces and co-hosts The Biggest Fan Podcast, a comedic pop culture podcast following the fads that are driving you mad! This is his first full-length play reading, and he is thrilled to be working with Tympanic!

 

About the director:

 

Joshua Ellison is a founding member of Area IV Theatre. where he directed MARCH (Edmonton International Theatre Festival) and From the Nightshade Family (Chicago Fringe Festival) and he provided the Dramaturgy and Lighting Design for Bear Claw. His work was also seen at Oracle, where he directed Samuel Beckett, Andre the Giant, and The Crickets. He is a company member with Tympanic where he directed The True History of the Tragic Life and Triumphant Death of Julia Pastrana, the Ugliest Woman in the World.
